It's a small sample, so not terribly reliable, but over 90% of 1D Mark II hit the 1 million mark! (I don't know if this is both Mark II and Mark IIN.) Some samples in survey are way too small to be relliable. Meanwhile, the 500D/T1i shows better than 80% surviving up to 118,000 clicks. such as the 450D/XSi drops below 80% surviving between 39,000-58,000 clicks. How this works is that it shows then expected percentage of cameras that will survive at some lifespan. Also, Kaplan-Meier Survivability, 80% or better survival shown unless otherwise noted. considering average shot count at which the shutter failed and image count at which cameras were still functioning normally.

Several numbers are shown based upon survey of users and their reported "mileage" with those models. The *ed numbers - Canon appeared to revise to 100K after the fact. I'd revise and expand upon the chart (originally from Digital ) as shown above in bold. Note: 90% of small sample)Ĭanon EOS 1DS Mark III 300,000 (Note: too small sample in survey.)Ĭanon EOS 1DS Mark II 200,000 (Note: too small sample in survey.)Ĭanon EOS 1Ds 150,000 (150,000 est.
